The Netherlands.
Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 11:29 Tomorrow, May 5, marks the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands.
For many Canadians, the day has significance not only in the great sacrifice the Canadian soldiers made in earning that freedom for the small European nation, but also because our roots are in the Netherlands.
Many, including both my parents family, came to Canada in the post-war immigration boom.
To commemorate that day here are some photos taken while my wife and I visited the land where my parents and grand parents came from.

Any one visiting Amsterdam should take in both the Anne Frank house and the Dutch Resistance Museum to get a taste of what the Netherlands was like during the second world war.
Just an aside. It is the Netherlands. North and South Holland are the names of two provinces with in the Netherlands. Netherlands is the country.
