Haiti in our hearts

Photo Randy Vanderveen Time is running out for those who are trapped in the rubble of Haiti's earthquake and then the task of recovering bodies and trying to prevent disease because of a lack of clean water, decaying bodies and infection begins, along with rebuilding. Please give to the relief efforts through an organization of your preference to help thoses left in Haiti. Haiti has been on my heart this week following the horrible tragedy that enveloped the poverty-stricken nation.
One of Cheryl's cousins and his wife, Dwayne and Tracy Dibben, and a couple from our church are in the midst of adopting boys from Haiti and now this disaster hits. I am hoping that God works through this to move the adoptions along quicker than they might otherwise have taken.
Clean water is one of the biggest concerns as most orphanges, like the Port Au Prince area itself, has had its water contaminated.
I also had the opportunity to read the blog posting from a photographer whose work I admire — Patrick Murphy-Racey. He is also a deacon in the Catholic church and he recently returned from Haiti. Please take the time to read it here.
It is good to read a wonderful entry.
I would hope you have given to support the relief work for Haiti — a job that will take years.
If not please do so now. The government is even matching contributions to approved charities like Samaritans Purse, World Vision, the Salvation Army, and the Red Cross to name a few.
What a return on investment your money for aid is doubled upon your gift.
If you think you can't give — think again. Rwanda, which I have written about before, has donated $100,000 to the effort although the small African nation is wracked in poverty herself.
Reminds me of the widow and the mite in Mark 12:38-44.
Please take the time to give now.
