Capture the Light or moment

Photo Randy Vanderveen, Grande Prairie Alberta. The sun casts a warm glow on a thunderhead on the skies above Grande Praire.I am guilty of looking for photos constantly — but I am also guilty of allowing good photos to get away.

I admit,  more times than I should, I don't stop when something first grabs my attention, thinking I will get it on the way back home or I will just circle the block.

Then the light changes or the action stops and THE PHOTO is gone. That isn't saying a photo is still not there but the scene that grabbed you is gone. The sun has gone behind the cloud, risen a little or the fleeting moment is gone. Or worse still you don't have your camera and by the time you go and get it the photo has evaporated.

It is good to be ready to capture the scene that grabbed your attention in the first place.

The photo above was one of the times I captured the light. I was heading home after an evening assignment last year and saw this. While the colours weren't quite as vibrant, I do like this enhanced version. It reminds me of a painting.
